As a Senior Digital Project Manager at Schwab, rhythm was central to my success as a leader and as an individual contributor. It went far beyond just the work. Each Friday on my way in from the train station I stop at the donut shop (no longer there) and pickup a box of assorted donuts and donut holes. I became a driver of culture and community by establishing a dependable rhythm, even if it had nothing to do with the work. It became a bit of a ceremony.
